Contemporary architecture is based on simple and minimalist blocks devoid of traditional ornaments. For this reason, it is the window and door joinery with large glazing that constitutes the most important and impressive decoration of their facades. Among the various types of windows, corner solutions deserve special attention. Not only do they ensure almost unlimited access to sunlight, but also add lightness to the building, not to mention the extremely spectacular appearance of this type of construction. Corner solutions are usually installed in living rooms or kitchens, optically enlarging their space and influencing the way the interior is arranged. However, more and more often we can find them also in bedrooms, offices and even bathrooms. They certainly create an original look and allow to achieve the effect of panoramic walls, especially in the case of corner terrace windows.
Types of corner solutions
Depending on the effect that the investor wants to obtain, we may deal with windows with
a so-called mullion corner profile or corner windows, which are joined at a 90o angle on the principle of pane to pane with the use of a specialised silicone. The latter solution looks extremely impressive precisely due to the lack of any visible aluminium element connecting the glazing packages in the corner. Constructions of this type may be made on the basis of TM 102HI and TM 77HI window/door systems, DP 180 and Moreview sliding systems and FA 50N and FA 50N SL facade systems offered by Yawal S.A. An interesting and original option is also the possibility of making an all-glass corner joined at any angle based on the Moreview system. Corners joined on the basis of the glass-to-glazing principle are non-openable structures. Yawal systems also allow for designing opening corners equipped with a movable mullion, thanks to which the effect of "opening wall" can be obtained.

Regardless of the type of selected corner solution, it should be remembered that such structures must be properly planned already at the architectural design stage. This involves additional requirements regarding the lintel or e.g. proper reinforcement of the ceiling. What is more, they are more exposed to the influence of atmospheric conditions, therefore it is worth betting on durable structures made of aluminium characterised by very good thermal insulation properties, which are offered by Yawal.
Programme support
The growing popularity of all-glass corners in residential and commercial construction has resulted in increased software support for their creation offered by Yawal. To facilitate the process of calculating and designing corners, Yawal Constructor has been equipped with a range of templates that allow manufacturers to quickly, easily and efficiently develop all-glass solutions based on the TM 102HI and TM 77HI window and door systems, as well as the Moreview and DP 180 sliding systems.
